What we do: Pirates Express is Winfield's full-service auto shop with a twist — we go to the customer. Free vehicle pickup and return within 25 miles for oil changes, repairs, and maintenance.

The racing side: Johnny and his son both race #17 on the local dirt tracks. That's who we are — people who live and breathe machines.

Before every job:

• Ensure vehicle is on level ground with parking brake set
• Use proper jack stands — never work under a vehicle on a floor jack alone
• Wear gloves when handling hot oil, fluids, or sharp components
• Safety glasses for under-vehicle work or any fluid draining

Fluid disposal:

• Used oil goes in the designated waste oil container — never on the ground
• Coolant, brake fluid, and other chemicals are collected separately

Emergency:

Fire extinguisher is near the front of the shop. Call 911 first, then Johnny at (205) 634-0009.

Oil Change Checklist:

1. Take a "before" photo of the engine bay and current mileage
2. Drain old oil, remove and inspect old filter
3. Install new drain plug washer + new filter
4. Fill with correct oil type and quantity (check job notes)
5. Check and top off: coolant, brake fluid, power steering, washer fluid
6. Check tire pressure — note any significantly low tires in job notes
7. Run engine, check for leaks
8. Reset oil life monitor if applicable
9. Take "after" photo showing new oil level on dipstick
10. Update job status to "Ready" in the portal

When in doubt:

Stop and call Johnny before doing anything you're unsure about. Never guess on a customer's vehicle.

Before pickup:

• Confirm address and customer name in the job card
• Call or text customer 15 minutes before arriving
• Take a photo of the vehicle exterior before driving it

While driving:

• Be professional — you are representing Pirates Express
• No personal calls while driving
• Drive customer's vehicle like it's your own — no hard acceleration

On return delivery:

• Text customer 15 min before arriving
• Park where customer requests
• Leave keys as instructed
• Update status to "Delivered" in the portal

Clock in when you arrive, clock out when you leave. The system logs your hours automatically.

Johnny reviews and approves time entries weekly. Once approved, hours are submitted for payment.

Payment schedule:

Every Friday for the previous Mon–Sun week. Contact Johnny if there are any discrepancies before Friday.

If you forget to clock out:

Flag the entry in the portal or contact Johnny to correct it. Don't try to guess — just communicate.
